Professor Christopher Read from the University of Warwick discusses the October Revolution in 1917. He highlights the main difference between the Russian revolution and the French revolution (breakdown of state precedes social revolution), the nature of the revolution at 'street' level and 'elite' level, and the commonality between the Russian revolution and the Arab Spring in 2011.
